Appointment of staff.

(4) A medical officer of health shall perform such

duties as may be prescribed by any enactment or by regulations,

rules or orders made under any enactment, and such other duties

as may be assigned to him by the Council.

(5) A medical officer of health and any officer duly

authorized by him shall, for the purposes of his duties, have

all the powers of entry on premises which are conferred on

Health Officers by the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance,

1935, or any other enactment.

(6) A medical officer of health shall not engage in

private practice, and shall not hold any other public appointment

without the consent of the Governor

57.- (1) The Council shall appoint a fit person to be

municipal surveyor, and may pay to the person so appointed such

reasonable remuneration as they may determine.

(2) The municipal surveyor shall hold office during the

pleasure of the Council.

(3) The municipal surveyor shall perform such duties as

may be determined by the Council.

58. - (1) The Council shall appointsuch other officers as

the Council think necessary for the efficient discharge of the

functions of the Council.

(2) The Council may pay to an officer appointed under

this section such reasonable remuneration as they may determine,

and every such officer shall hold office during the pleasure

of the Council.

(3) The Council may assign officers to assist the clerk

of the Council in carrying out any of his duties in relation

to the registration of electors and the conduct of elections

upon such terms as may be agreed between the Council and the

clerk.
